Family Protection Plan is an optional insurance product underwritten by MetLife which provides coverage in case of unfortunate events such as Loss of Life, Permanent Total Disability, and/or Permanent Partial Disability due to an accident. That is:
- Lump sum payment to the policy owner/beneficiary depending on insurance coverage chosen
- Additional accident medical expense reimbursement
- A range of coverage options so you can choose the plan most suitable for you
- Monthly or annual payment frequency with the flexibility to terminate at any time
Claim forms and the list of supporting document are available at https://www.metlife.ae/claims/. You can directly lodge claims with MetLife claims department (Toll free number 8006385433). Please remember that you have 60 days from the date of the covered event to report the claim to MetLife. Alternatively, the card member or his/her beneficiary may call Citibank at +97143114000 to report a claim.
In case you wish to cancel your policy, you may call Citibank at +971 4 311 4000 or use the “write to us” option by logging onto Citibank online.

If the policy is cancelled within the free-look period, which is 30 days from the date policy issuance, customers will be entitled to a refund of premium collected within that period as per the terms and conditions of the plan. For cancellations after the free-look period, there will be no refund of premiums paid as this policy is not a savings plan and does not acquire a cash value.
